how to brew beer at home Knowledge Base

Where can I go online to learn how to brew beer at home, step by step? I would like to learn and am starting with complete zero knowledge of home brewing. Need to know things such as the equipment needed, ingredients, process, ect.
How can I brew beer at home? You know, to save money.
How long does it take for a 5 gallon batch of beer (home brew) to ferment? This particular batch fermented in just a few days-I still want to wait at least 10 until I bottle-should I hit it with another dose of yeast?
How to brew beer at home? K, so I have been doing tons of reading online about brewing beer at home and I really want to try it, but most of the info I come across is either vague, or involves me starting from scratch and really that seems overly complex. The reason I say that is because when I was a lot younger I remember my dad using a can of what looked like sap (I was 12) to brew beer, thus making the whole process a lot easier. So to break down this question, heres what I want to know: 1. Can I still buy the cans of "sap" and make beer this way? 2. What equipment do I need to brew this way? 3. How long does it take to brew my first batch? 4. Is the beer any good? Im Canadian so my beer standards are pretty high :) Any help is much appreciated!
where is the best place to find info on home brew? My grandmother has been distilling hard stuff for years, but I want to find info on how to brew beer at home. I want to find an in-expensive setup and lots info on the whole process. thanks!
My home brew beer is flat. How do I rescue it? I bought a kit and while I know it's not an exact science I followed the instructions to the letter. They said leave it for no less than 2 weeks and it should be ready. It has now been over 5 weeks. I poured my first pint a couple of days back and it was totally flat. It is only a 10 pint kit and has been stored at room temperature 18-22 degrees celsius. It is now Saturday night and a drinking session is planned for Monday afternoon so any quick fixes would be helpful! Many thanks. Just to clarify it was a 'just add water kit'. I have not bottled the beer. It has a pump in order to be drunk straight from the keg. This is the item below and it's bitter I'm brewing not lager so I don't want it to be fizzy but the faintest hint of a head would be nice!! http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.asp?id=10125 Cheers.
I want to have a go at brewing my own beer at home. Is this legal and if so how do I do it? I've never brewed beer before and I have no idea how to do it -- so the easier it is the better.
Has anyone used the Mr. Beer home brewing kit? I ordered a Mr. Beer home brewing kit and I have some questions: How did you like it? Is it as easy to use as they make it out to be? Whats the proper way to sanitize the bottles? Do you need to sanitize them after each use? After bottling, at what point can I put it in the fridge? Any do's and dont advice? Thanks!
How do I go about getting started home brewing beer? I was at the shops and saw all of these cans of home brew beer and was wondering how easy is it to get started in home brewing and what equipment I need. Does home brew taste any good?
What's the best Home Brewing Beer kit? I'd like to make some beer at home, but not sure what the best beer kit out there is? I'd like something that will teahc me how to make stouts, ales, etc - any thoughts out there?
How do I make good home brewed beer? I work at a malting plant (the process that converts barley to malt.) I was wondering what other supplies I would need to make a good home brewed beer. Im off to a good start as the malt we produce is #1 in Canada. I just need to know what supplies I need and how to make it. My Dad used to brew his own a long time ago... now I wish I paid more attention to what he was doing. Any advice???
How does yeast carbonate home brewed root beer, and other soft drinks without creating alcohol? We used to make root beer at home, and the yeast got it nice and fizzy after five days without creating alcohol, so I was curious.
How do you increase alcohol levels in a home brewed beer? I've recently started to home brew and am just trying to learn a bit more about the hobby. I'm making about 5 gal. at a time, so measurements would be helpful with any of your answers. Thank you.

Bottling home brew beer? When bottling the beer is the beer at the bottom with all the sludge ok to bottle and drink. If not how much do you leave in the bottom ?
How do I use coffee in my home-brewed beer? I know it is possible to do this but I'm not quite sure how. At what point in production do I put it in?ie boil, where hops would be, maybe secondary or primary ferment. How much should be used?(not using hops btw) What kind of bean works best? Whole or ground beans? if someone could point me to a recipe it would be great P.S.it is out of my power to use hops also, so please post your suggestion to this
I need help with my first home brew beer? I would like to attempt a beer similar to my favorite Guinness Extra Stout, but I've never brewed beer before. I've made mead and hard cider. What is a cheap and affordable way to fill up at least 3 beer bottles at the same time (home brewed)? I'm trying to help out a friend of mine whom bottles and brews his own beer. He needs to figure out a cheap and affordable way to fill up at least 3 bottles at the same time, but I can't figure out how. Any suggestions? Does a 3-way beer bottle filler exist?
quality of home beer brewing kits? I am looking to start brewing beer in my home. Most kits seems to be reasonably priced 50-100$ which is fine. 2 Questions I have are 1. What quality of beer is made from these kits i.e. Mr Beer etc. Is it better or worse than Natural Light / Coors Light / Bud Light (college beers mostly). ... Hopefully it at least is as good as natural.. and if not what do they taste like. 2. How much money would I save making a batch (in terms of 30 beers, a case).
Home brewing your own beer? I want to brew my own beer at home, nothing large scale, im just passionate about beer and want to experiment with it. How exactly should i go about getting everything i need? i know they have brew kits online but are they any good? And are there beer recipes i can find?
How do you add flavour to a beer when brewing? I am relatively new to home brewing beer. I've made about 5 batches this year and I am ready to try experimenting. I wanted to try and make something like a honey flavoured beer. At which step in the process do I add honey, and for a 5 gallon batch, how much honey would i add? Honey is just an example, but it will give me an idea of how to go about doing the same thing with a few other flavours. Thank you in advance, cheers!
I want to brew my own beer. How do I start? I am looking to start brewing my own beer. I know there are several different kits available out there that include packets to get started, and I'm willing to do that, but I'd also like to take a more analytical approach to brewing my own beer at home. Essentially, I'd like to brew something that isn't just the stuff that I got from the company that made the kit and experiment a little to make soemthing "all my own."
I've heard of people brewing their own beer at home.? Is this legal in all states? How is it done? I'd like to try- sounds like a fun project in autumn.
How long can I keep my home brewed beer before drinking? I brewed some beer and have been storing it in a plastic beer keg. My first question is how long can I keep it in there? The second question is, I have used the tap to transfer some of it into glass pressure stopper bottles and I was wondering if they are suitable for storage. Normally I just transfer them into the bottles to have at the dinner table and drink straight away but I was wondering about giving some away as gifts to my family and therefore how long they can stay in those bottles and whether or not they need to be refridgerated. Thanks!
How to make home brewed beer step by step instructions? Just to let you guys know I'm 15 years old but I haven't even tasted alcohol in my life. I want to drink some just to know how it tastes and I'm just curious. Now please can you guys just help me out I was truthful enough to tell you my age. I also obviously can't buy the ingredients at a brewery store. So where can I buy this stuff without raising too much attention like at a grocery store would they sell hops and stuff. I also read online that I could use two gallon soda bottles to put it in to ferment I want to make it and don't care if its really ghetto or anything thanks for the help.
which home brewing kits are best for beer? i want to try brewing beer myself. i've looked at several starter kits but does any one know which is best? also, why does the beer have to be bottled as opposed to leaving it in the fermentation bucket? how long does the whole process take?
what's the highest alcohol %age i can brew at home? HOW? and what bottles do i use? i'm looking forward to making some beer in my fermenter at home that has a high high high percentage. can someone give me a recipe or tell me how to make some? i have some coopers kits for drinks, but dont want to modify them too much. also i bought a capper, and dont know if it can do crown seals on both screwtops and the pry-off ones. and when bottling the 'high alcohol' beer, how do i fill it? will it expolode the bottles? i'm only 18, and have only made 1 brew sofar, using plastic bottles. help is appreciated alot.
How hard is it to brew your own beer or cider? I've been looking into brewing my own beer and cider at home, but I've heard different things from different people. Lots of people say that its a waste of money because alot of the stuff you brew doesn't work out, and that it either tastes crap or explodes in your garage. Where as some people have said that its great, you save hundreds of dollars and it a tastes just as good as it would from the pub. How hard is it and what are some things I should consider?
How difficult is it to make alcoholic cider at home? Is the process basically the same as making beer? I don't drink a lot of beer, but I do enjoy good cider (Woodchuck, Strongbow, etc.). I've seen those "brew your own beer" kits at various places, and thought about giving it a go, but I would be significantly more interested in brewing my own apple cider, blueberry cider, etc. Has anyone ever done this, and how hard is it to do? Is it expensive?
How may I purchase a Mr. Beer brewing kit in either Singapore or Thailand? If not, then how could it ship? I wish to attempt home brewing but have been frustrated in attempts to find a Mr. Beer kit. At this point, I am interested in making two-gallons at a time. It appears that there was once an active Mr. Beer website in Singapore, but it no longer works. I will travel to Thailand soon. Might Mr. Beer be available in either Singapore or Thailand? If not, then how could I have it shipped?
Can I make an Oktoberfest home brew without lagering it? What yeast do I use and how long do I ferment? I'd like to make an Oktoberfest but don't currently have the equipment to lager. Can I still make it and ferment at 65-70? And would I still ferment the same amount of time? Or would this completely ruin my beer? If I HAVE to lager? What do I need to buy? A frig big enough for my fermenting bucket I'm guessing? Thanks!
Brewing beer with household items.? I'm just trying to figure out how to build something to brew beer in. Not like full scale mass production of course. Just a fun home brew kit. I know I can't use random things I find around the house, but I was thinking more of a guide or something on what to buy at a hardware or home improvement store. Guides or links to stuff on the internet would be great. PS, I know there are lots of brewing kits all over the place but I don't want to get one of those. I'm looking to build one.
Assistance with adding extra spices to home brew. Help!? I have a bit of a mix for my next batch of brew. I have some malt extract from a friend that is only labeled as "American Ale" I don't know if it's pre-hopped or not. I'd like to make a holiday beer by adding some sweet orange peel, ginger, and sweet gale. As well as an oz of Willamette hops. (for flavoring) As I don't need to make a mash, what would be the best way to get this done? With the extract there really isn't much boiling time needed at all. So how would I work in the hops/spices? Also when would be a good time to add the sugar? (which type I have not decided on. Any suggestions would be nice. I was going for an amber belgian candi) Thanks for all the help! Is there a way to taste the malt to tell if it's hopped? Just enough for an educated guess. I dont want to over hop since im adding the spices.
How long is a micro-brew untapped keg good for? Need a beer pro for this one? Well guys I walk into Safeway and pick up a keg for the game this weekend to hook up to my kegerator. The beer is a speciality micro brew produced locally in my home state and I notice the sucker is 5 months old... I called Safeway and they said the beer is fine even though its 5 months old but I taste a little of that familiar skunk taste. What do the pros have to say on a keg thats 5 months old stored in a cold room at Safeway (keep in mind its a micro brew not a pasteurized beer like bud)
Beer: Homebrewers? Any homebrewers out there? How much time on average would you say you spend brewing for each batch of beer? I've always wanted to brew at home but don't have heaps of time, how much time investment would you say you put into brewing say a gallon of beer?
Stout and cacao powder? Hi, were are in the process of making beer at home, we tried all Festa Brew kits (humm, nice product there). So we now are looking for a little improvisation. We were wondering if anyone had tips to adding cacao powder to a stout. How much should we add? When should we add it to the beer? Will it taste good? Thanks all
What caused the demise of Tusker Premium Lager? Tusker Premium Lager in the GREEN bottle (not the BROWN bottle, that is a different style) was one of my all-time favorite beers. The Premium is one of the most thirst-quenching brews ever crafted. Awesome on a hot summer day. Whereas, the brown-bottle 'standard lager' is undistinguished swill. But at some point the Premium simply disappeared from shelves. No distributor can get it for me, and I have talked to them all. Supposedly, sometime in the last ten years, the Guinness beer company (UK) swept into the African beer market and pushed it out, or there was a war or something-- but Tusker Premium is no longer made in Kenya. Can I get the recipe and have someone home brew it for me? This is what I've heard. If so, where can I look for that recipe? How can Ernest Hemingway's favorite beer be allowed to die out? Why isn't someone doing something about this? I'd do anything to get this beer back! Pay any amount! Who do I have to lay or who do I have to kill to get some closure her
What are your favorite brown and/or dark beers? Why do these suit you? If you brew have you been able to make similar brews at home? How so? Thanks a bunch
POLL: I need your evaluation on this girl and what I should do? Alright, so back in September this girl started coming to my church/bible study. And yes, she’s extremely hot, the only looker at my church, though she is very shy and quiet. We’re both in high school, 16. The first time I introduced myself and got her name, we only talked for about 20 seconds cause I had to go, but nevertheless we exchanged names and I found out she went to my school. The next time I talked to her may have been a week or two later, but I was playing guitar outside my church (a lot of guys bring their guitars, but I’m the only one who does improvisations). My buddy was sort of dancing and messing around trying to freestyle to some blues I was playing. She walked up and started listening, and then my buddy walked away, so I started talking to her. She liked my guitar playing, blah blah blah, we talked about school and stuff and how the teachers are annoying, funny stories about getting in trouble, all along the Bible study leader was getting annoyed and trying to “inadvertently” separate us (he’s one of those strange people who are anti flirting/dating in high school). Anyways a while later we’re the only ones left, everyone else had gone over to the hangout place at McDonalds, so we had to get a ride with the bible study leader, which was a little awkward, though it was fun to annoy him just a little. Alright so I talked to her many times since then, but not as long because of circumstances. About a week ago I saw her in the “people you may know” on Facebook, and I gave in and friended her (I hate using Facebook to talk to girls, as a matter of principle, but I gave in this time). She confirmed, and when I got home Saturday night I went online to talk to friends. What do ya know, but she’s on, and so I started talking to her, she was extremely talkative, and had a lot to say, and also seemed interested in the stuff I had been up to lately and even more so the home brewing, sneaking out, collecting knives etc. We talked about all that and more, about music about everything. When we were talking about home brew we got to talking about beer, of which she had only tasted one kind, but I (without thinking) stated the kinds I like and the kinds I don’t like. She said that she needs to read up on her beer, “haha smileyface”, and I said that something like “hey well we keep talking about knives and beer and other stuff which I doubt girls are into, we can talk about girly stuff too” to which she replies “girly stuff, like rainbows and butterflies? Haha smileyface”. Joking around I said “yay ranbows” and she goes “haha like gay people” and I accused her (joking around) of being a gutter mind. So this conversation had gone on for about an hour and half without slowing down at all, and since I was tired (and also because I wanted to assert that I was the one who was letting her talk to me, not vice versa) I said “good talking to you but I should to go to bed, see you at church tomorrow” and left. So the next day at Bible study we crossed paths once and said hi (and I had enough time to make some dumb joke, which she laughed), but that was all. At McDonalds afterwards she was hanging out with two girls, neither of which I could call a friend. I didn’t know how to go up and talk to them as a group, and I didn’t want to annoy her friends (yes I know I was being a wimp but I really don’t know how I would have) so I just hung out with my friends. My goal is to date her, but most people at my church and school are against dating and so we would have to do it secretly, and therefore I want to take this slow and be good friends with her first. I’m sorry this was long, but I thought for y’all to make a good evaluation I should include most of the points that seem like they might be a clue. 1. Does she like me more than a friend? Or is the interest that she’s showing just friendly? 2. Does that gay joke and her trying to justify herself to me as liking guns and knives and beer etc. mean she just wants to be my buddy? 3. How do I break into her group of friends, or find ways to talk to her more in real life? She's shy so she is definately not going to walk up to my group of freinds. I hate having to rely on Facebook, real men use face to face communication for their women. 4. Any other comments/hints are welcome. Give your reasons, thanks! By the way this month is No-shave November, so right now, and for the next month I will look kind of stubbly/bearded. Don’t try to dissuade me, I’ve already made the commitment not to shave until December. i don't know what "contretemps" you are talking about. and im not talking about dragging her into doing sexual things at all, i don't want to do that till im married.
My weight fluctuates for no reason!!! what is going on?!? I'm a student at a college in a small town, but I live in a big city. All my life I've been very petite and weight has never, ever been an issue. I ate whatever I want and people would often comment on how the hell I ate so much but never gained any weight. A big part of it was that I was an athlete swimmer, but this was really only until i was 15. After 15 I didn't really bother with exercise that much, I sat around, ate tons of burgers and pasta, and no big deal I was still always a size 00. 5'3 and 100 lbs. Then I went to college and started to balloon. Over the past 3 years (I'm a senior now) I've become increasingly health conscious, but have gotten up to a weight of 140 lbs. I know that obviously I'm not "fat" by any means, but I would really like to get back around where I used to be! I've done everything I can possibly do, but NOTHING works, I continuously gain weight. I used to think it was just the campus food, but now I live off campus and I'm still gaining weight!!! What's weird though is that as soon as I go home, I lose a HUGE amount of weight. And what I don't understand is why? I recently just went home and within two weeks lost about 13-15 lbs. I was down to 125! I do walk around a lot while I'm there (mostly just as a means of getting from one place to the next, not as any attempt at exercise), and I'm on my feet most of the day but still it's weird because I don't exercise like I do at school, I'm not as rigorous about my diet (think hangover pastrami sandwiches at the local deli, or snacks of about 5 spoonfuls of almond butter, or chipotle burritos. each about 4-5 times a week), but I still eat basically the same as I do at school (in addition to my indulgences), and somehow I lose all this weight. I don't think it's because school is stressful. I'm not stressed. I'm very happy and relaxed, it's just this is so bothersome, I don't understand. I go to the gym for about 30 mins in the morning, do a medium-heavy workout every day. Sometimes if i have time i try to go again in the afternoon for another 30 mins. Then I try to do yoga before bed, but I usually forget. here's a pretty detailed list of stuff that I usually eat, because I want to be as informative as possible: Drinks (one accompanied with every meal) are either: Organic chai black tea with unsweetened soymilk, unsweetened soy milk (straight up), filtered water, or home-brewed ginger-raspberry kombucha. Weekends I do consume some beer, but I'm a little bit of a homebody so I really only have a few beers once or twice every other week. Breakfast: 1/2 cup of Nonfat Greek yogurt with a banana or 2 scrambled eggs with basil, grape tomatoes and crumbled goat cheese Lunch: 2 scrambled eggs, one serving of firm tofu fried in a small dollop of curry paste, onions, basil and one tablespoon of olive oil. topped with siracha sauce. or 1/4 cup quinoa w/ black beans, olives, tomatoes, peppers and half a tablespoon of olive oil Dinner: 1/4 quinoa w/ broccoli, cucumber, bamboo, soy sauce, tofu and thai curry sauce (fat-reduced organic coconut milk, curry paste) or Tandoori marinated 1/2 lb of fish. I eat out maybe once a week. I feel like I eat enough to not starve myself, but not enough to gain weight (trying to keep in the range of 1,100-1,400 cals per day). Obviously, I pay very close attention to my serving sizes and what I consume, with effort given to mostly organic and healthy foods. And I also feel like I exercise a fair amount. WHAT. THE. HELL?! oh, and it's been almost a month since i've been back at school. and i've already gained about 10 lbs back.

Poetry Analysis, need help :D ???? this is the poem any observations like, Imagery, the beat I dont really get how to do a poetry analysis, not asking for a hand out just some key points to get me started, u might reconginse poem/ lyric is Johnny Cash's a boy named sue My daddy left home when I was three And he didn't leave much to ma and me Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze. Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid But the meanest thing that he ever did Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue." Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk, It seems I had to fight my whole life through. Some gal would giggle and I'd get red And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head, I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue." Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean, My fist got hard and my wits got keen, I'd roam from town to town to hide my shame. But I made a vow to the moon and stars That I'd search the honky-tonks and bars And kill that man who gave me that awful name. Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July And I just hit town and my throat was dry, I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew. At an old saloon on a street of mud, There at a table, dealing stud, Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me "Sue." Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had, And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye. He was big and bent and gray and old, And I looked at him and my blood ran cold And I said: "My name is 'Sue!' How do you do! Now your gonna die!!" Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes And he went down, but to my surprise, He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear. But I busted a chair right across his teeth And we crashed through the wall and into the street Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer. I tell ya, I've fought tougher men But I really can't remember when, He kicked like a mule and he bit like a crocodile. I heard him laugh and then I heard him cuss, He went for his gun and I pulled mine first, He stood there lookin' at me and I saw him smile. And he said: "Son, this world is rough And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along. So I give ya that name and I said goodbye I knew you'd have to get tough or die And it's the name that helped to make you strong." He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight And I know you hate me, and you got the right To kill me now, and I wouldn't blame you if you do. But ya ought to thank me, before I die, For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you "Sue.'" I got all choked up and I threw down my gun And I called him my pa, and he called me his son, And I came away with a different point of view. And I think about him, now and then, Every time I try and every time I win, And if I ever have a son, I think I'm gonna name him Bill or George! Anything but Sue! I still hate that name!
Main idea of this poem... ????? I know its also a song? A Boy Named Sue by Shel Silverstein Well, my daddy left home when I was three, and he didn't leave much to Ma and me, just this old guitar and a bottle of booze. Now I don't blame him because he run and hid, but the meanest thing that he ever did was before he left he went and named me Sue. Well, he must have thought it was quite a joke, and it got lots of laughs from a lot of folks, it seems I had to fight my whole life through. Some gal would giggle and I'd get red and some guy would laugh and I'd bust his head, I tell you, life ain't easy for a boy named Sue. Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean. My fist got hard and my wits got keen. Roamed from town to town to hide my shame, but I made me a vow to the moon and the stars, I'd search the honky tonks and bars and kill that man that gave me that awful name. But it was Gatlinburg in mid July and I had just hit town and my throat was dry. I'd thought i'd stop and have myself a brew. At an old saloon in a street of mud and at a table dealing stud sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me Sue. Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad from a worn-out picture that my mother had and I knew the scar on his cheek and his evil eye. He was big and bent and gray and old and I looked at him and my blood ran cold, and I said, "My name is Sue. How do you do? Now you're gonna die." Yeah, that's what I told him. Well, I hit him right between the eyes and he went down but to my surprise he came up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear. But I busted a chair right across his teeth. And we crashed through the wall and into the street kicking and a-gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer. I tell you I've fought tougher men but I really can't remember when. He kicked like a mule and bit like a crocodile. I heard him laughin' and then I heard him cussin', he went for his gun and I pulled mine first. He stood there looking at me and I saw him smile. And he said, "Son, this world is rough and if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough and I knew I wouldn't be there to help you along. So I gave you that name and I said 'Goodbye'. I knew you'd have to get tough or die. And it's that name that helped to make you strong." Yeah, he said, "Now you have just fought one helluva fight, and I know you hate me and you've got the right to kill me now and I wouldn't blame you if you do. But you ought to thank me before I die for the gravel in your guts and the spit in your eye because I'm the nut that named you Sue." Yeah, what could I do? What could I do? I got all choked up and I threw down my gun, called him pa and he called me a son, and I came away with a different point of view and I think about him now and then. Every time I tried, every time I win and if I ever have a son I think I am gonna name him Bill or George - anything but Sue.

What hobby is more pointless: Editing Wikipedia or making Star Wars costumes? Is it wrong to edit Wikipedia as a hobby for the enjoyment of the activity? Whenever I've edited Wikipedia, I've done so as a way to extend my interests in the topic areas I've been editing. And, I've looked at writing Wikipedia articles as something semi-productive in my spare time, since someone might actually be interested in the subjects of those articles. Is it wrong to treat Wikipedia editing as a hobby? How does that compare to, say, making Star Wars costumes? There are a lot of people out there who make Star Wars costumes in their spare time, like those at http://www.501st.com/ . A lot of people think of costuming as a dumb hobby and a way to stay nerdy, instead of actually having to get outside. Other people collect stamps as a hobby, or go to Civil War reenactments, or make their own home-brewed beer. Judging by the discussion in this category of Yahoo! Answers, though, editing Wikipedia is to be discouraged, because the encyclopedia is always wrong, living people have errors in their biographies, Jimbo is getting huge paychecks from the lecture circuit, and he's probably sleeping with someone. So what makes Wikipedia more pointless as a hobby than making a replica Stormtrooper costume?

Jimmy Carter help made home beer making LEGAL! Isnt that ENOUGH to make him the best president ever? The economy would have been bad anyway. The gas shortage started while Nixon was still President; I know that for a fact because I was in high school at that time and the gas shortage was in the news then. It just happened to peak when Carter was in office. The worst part of the recession actually took place during Reagan's first term. Everybody says how wonderful the economy was with Reagan. You could have fooled me--I was out of work most of the time while Reagan was in office. I never understood why people thought Reagan was so great. But regardless of all the bad stuff that happened to take place during his presidency, at least he helped make it so Americans can finally brew their own beer legally at home which help lead to the start of microbreweries and put decent American beer on the map. Prohibition destroyed American beer so bad that if it wasnt for this, the only American beer left today would still be piss water. Isnt this enough to make up for all the bad things that happened? What other president would help legalize something like this? Can you imagine having no good beer available?
home beer brewing - how do I increase alcohol content? I'm brewing beer at home for the first time and I noticed my first batch had low alcohol content. In fact, I can hardly feel a buzz. The beer kit came with a small packet of yeast, about the size of a sugar packet. I'm wondering if I need to increase the amount of yeast in my next batch to increase the amount of alcohol. Can any professional home brewers out there assist? Thanks a bunch!
