can you distill beer mash from regular brewer kits?

I was wondering if i could distill the same mash from my beer kit through my pot still and extract the alchol?

1. You can distill anything and get high alcohol as long as the liquid you start with contains some alcohol. The thing about the beer kits is, the "mash" stage is long behind you in the brewing process, that is unless your brewing from scratch.

2. Sure, but it'll have a lot of hops in it (if the beer is hopped), which you may want to filter out with a charcoal filter.

3. You can but don't let the cops find out (technically it's illegal)
